A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam emails, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a few functions, but it’s incredibly user-friendly, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires only one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just have to click on the "Catch-all" button for the specific address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small symbol handily located directly next to each one of them. With just one click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature using the contextual menu that will surface. If any of the requirements for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
